Pug - Mops

As I moved to the country and now I live on small farm I wanted to take small dog to live in the house. Why not simply more amstaffs? Yes, amstaffs are great dogs, but you have to spend a time with your amstaff to socialise him and learn basic obedience. You have to allways be carefull if you have more dogs to give enough care to everyone.
I was searching for small breed of similar temperament and in pug I found the one that  really fitts me. The temperament of this small, selfconfident dogs are somewhat like those of amstaffs, but they are rarely aggressive and harsh games of pug puppies rarely escalate in real fights – as could in amstaff pups and in young uncontrolled dogs.
It doesn't take lot of time to spend on socialisation of pugs, as you have to do with amstaffs.
The pug is very funny dog. He fullfiles your house with the most of the dog you can imagine. He makes you believe you have a big dog because his personality is very strong. His small but compact body gives you feeling you are touching and huging a much more of the dog as you would think when you see him.
Is the pug the first and the best dog on the earth? Yes, but not for everyone!
Altough very active dog, the pug is not a dog for long walks. If you are looking for a active dog to live in your household as a family pet, enjoy a daily walks, follow you on jogging or riding trails, compete with you in obedience or agility, the pug is not an ideal choice for you. He is quite susceptible both on cold and drafts as on hot and humid weather. And if you consider to take a dog for a home with small children, he can be quite susceptible in rough children games, so please take some another breed (maybe AMSTAFF??) or wait a few years for your children to grow up.
